The Ralliart
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:22:50 PM »

This was before I painted the fender chrome black

and this is after

foglight tint

Mod list:

Some dealer installed tid-bits like the window tint. The previous owner also had the MMCS installed at the dealer after he bought it.

HKS Super Hybrid drop-in filter
SilverStar running lights
Plasti-Dipped chrome ring and lip Evo X style
De-chrome (plasti-dip) fender accents
Yellow foglight tint
Fake CF Ralliart tag holder
Rexpeed pillar pod w/ ProSport boost and oil pressure gauges (still a WIP)
SSP Not Evo sticker
SWIFT Sport Springs

Wish list:

Stickers!!!
Change rear badges
3M DI-NOC Carbon Fiber B pillars, center bumper piece & some interior parts
6000k or 8000k HIDs
Paint headlight housings black
Evo X fender vents
18X8.5 +35 Rota Torque Hyper Black or 18x9 5x114.3 +45 Rota D-Force or TE-37 replicas
SharkFin antenna
Painted calipers
D2 Racing RS Coilovers or Swift springs (I want a nice stance while not losing any ride comfort. If you have any suggestions, let me know)
Roof vortex generators
Scorpion front diffuser lip
Whiteline rear sway bar
AMS FMIC
Ultimate Racing muffler
Boost pill
Re-tune

A few other things I may be interested in one day if the opportunity presents itself but are low priorities:

Various CF accents (Rexpeed/Evo-R) for interior and exterior
Password:JDM CF engine and spark plug covers
Do-Luck style trunk or Rexpeed duckbill spoiler
a decent aftermarket intake system
CF hood
HKS SSQV3 BOV or better
Evo X style widebody kit

My goals for this car are to reduce the lag while increasing the mid to top end power a bit. I don't want it to be crazy fast, just a little more then stock. I also want it to look really nice.

Yeah, it is the Evo 9 diffs I believe. The twin clutch paddle shift stuff is the same as the Evo X MR though.

My car is really just a bunch of random Evo parts slapped together, lol.

As for lowering it, I really want to but I am very concerned about ride quality because I tend to drive people around a lot (its the whole reason I went with a 4 door car)

I'm trying to decide if I should go with coilovers or just springs. I've heard coilovers tend to be more comfortable but I'm not too sure either and would the difference be enough to justify the $500+ price difference?

well the coil overs you can have your fatest of fat friends sit in the car and perfectly adjust your ride height to where it feels right then get a alignment and be set. but a set of springs would be just one size drop. so you got the money id go with coilovers. if your like me. just get a mild drop and you should feel no real difference in drivability.

Yeah, I don't want to be ridiculously low either. Coilovers are just so dang expensive. Its hard to justify spending that much for the sake of a slightly nicer stance.

Someone at the ralliart forum cut the springs as low as they could go... sitting on the bump stops.

Thats as low as it gets fellas.
